Have been asked by a number of people the outcome of the SGM/AGM today
The proposal was NOT passed ( 22 votes for to 45 against so motion not carried) and therefore Helen was not expelled.
The AGM was scheduled to be convened after lunch. Before this time the
Chairperson Secretary and Treasurer of the club resigned and as
one of the above three office bearers by KC (Kennel Club) rules had to
attend the AGM and so the AGM had to be postponed to a later date.
The members of the club will be informed in the fullness of time how
the LMC are going to proceed after consultation with the KC. It is
expected that a meeting will be called to select a new committee and
after this the AGM can be rescheduled.
I have been told on good authority That if you are unable to attend
LMC SGM this Sunday (remember the clocks go forward ie get up 1 hour
earlier) you can write a letter to the LMC committee expressing your
views on the proposal. All such letters will be read out at the SGM. I
would assume that the letter would be sent to Tina Chairperson of LMC.

If you are a member of the LMC (Large Munsterlander Club) you will have received a letter calling a Special General Meeting of the LMC.
The letter reads :
Management Committee of the LMC proposes expulsion of Mrs Helen Evans from the LMC, on the grounds that; The conduct of Mrs Helen Evans, in breeding litter of Large munsterlanders born May 25th 2007, both parents having KC/BVA "Hereditary Cataract affected" Certificate , is contra to the guidelines for LM owners/Members & deemed injurious to the chaacter & interests of LMC.
The facts as we see them:
Tarkanya Hollys Hello (Spicky) was born 22/11/2004 and she had a routine BVA eye test when she "failed" the eye test with Hereditary Cataract.
Over the following couple of years Helen sought information and advice concerning these Hereditary Cataract which were beginning to creep into the LM breed from Veterinarys who specialise in Ophthalmics Genetics DNA testing and Breeders of LM.
After due consideration and with all the facts gained from discussions with the above professionals she decided to mate Spicky and another dog who also had a "Hereditary Cataract affected" Certificate. On the understanding that the subsequent litter would be monitored for the duration of their lives, this includes a yearly eye test and DNA samples as requested by specialists.
The puppies went to homes where the people who took them were given all the facts, and had to undertake to ensure the above eye tests would be done yearly.
The paramount reason for the mating being to give the specialist previously unavailable DNA
information from mating two affected dogs. Already this information has given the professionals invalueable information.
Who is Helen Evans:
Helens is the owner of the Tarkanya Affix. She shows and works her dogs with a great deal of success. She is at this time Field Trial Secretary of the LMC which she does with her usual diligence.
I have known Helen for ~ 18years during this time I have thought of her as a caring dedicated person. She has demonstrated her comitment to the breed with her timeless effort to maintain a high standard on breeding stock with excellent hips and clear elbows and shoulders.
All Helens dogs are hip scored scored and Elbows and Shoulders screened Helen also encourges the people who take puppies from her to have their puppies hip scored elbow and shoulder screens done This is pet people and people thinking of breeding . Thus giving Helen a complete "data base" of her breeding not just a small sample of dogs the breeder kept to breed from.
This demonstrates a caring/dedication for the breed as this is time comsuming and expensive.
If you think the LMC are wrong to expel Helen from the club then you need to be @ the Special General Meeting to vote.
If you would like more information on this subject Helen is quite willing to talk to any one who would like more information Tel. 01223845255.
