Hi Pam, would really love to keep both Ruby and Grace as I am so so attached to them equally (all three girl pups in the litter were excellent in type and construction and temperament) but is not practical or sensible - can't show two together in the same class and would not leave one at home when off for a few days in the motor home to the different shows and working events. As for training two from the same litter that is not easy, a pup, in my opinion needs your undivided attention a lot of the time, the more you put in, the the easier they are when older. Abbie and Lila are old enough and wise enough to understand and are more than happy to help with training by example.
One pup is for sale once Ruby has had her second xray (she was the real live wire in the litter, she used to stop the seven boys from getting back in the whelping box single handed !! we think whilst trying to jump over the box or when rough and tumbling around she injured her leg so she went straight to my vets - and my vet being who he is, said xray now and xray in a month down the line to compare the two to make 100% sure her growth plate is unaffected. We also have the added experience of Malcolm Ness (one of the top in the country) who Andy is having lectures with at the moment and he took Ruby's first xray and Malcolm has offered to look at the second. I gather to diagnose a young pups growth plate and bones is very very difficult, so that is why my vet is using his time with Malcolm to get me an extra (free) consultation. So a loving, caring home will be wanted for one of the pups in a week or so - after they have gone though my interview !!!
