Lindsey highs and lows of her extended family
Hi Mo
Lucy is an excellent hunter. She lives to hunt but sometimes she hunts the wrong things i.e. Deer and Hares!!! Unfortunately she is fast enough to catch Hares!! She has an excellent nose and is as agile as a Deer which is very desirable in the area around us. Her main fault is the need to speak to everyone and everything about everything.I have not found a solution to that problem yet. However she is very beautiful and everyone admires her for that which only inflates her ego and makes her even more vocal.
At times I think she is too intelligent for her own good. She always knows when we are going shooting even though I try to follow the same routine every day and once she has decided that it's a shooting days she sings for England and nothing will stop her.
She sings in the house, in the car and in the Car Park - very annoying but I haven't found any way of stopping her.Open to suggestions!!!!
Hope the house will soon be finished.
Good to hear from you was thinking about you the other day and was wondering how Lucy was doing in "the field" has she turned out to be a good hunting dog?
Glad all is well with you House nearly finnished...just the little niggle things to be done..
Keep in touch
Mo
Hi to everyone in Munsterland.
Haven't posted for ages but always watch the blog.Hard to believe Lucy will be three in December. She is now very grown up but unfortunately no quieter. Everyone knows when she arrives on the shoot.
Rather suprised Mo was refferring to sunny Scotland as I understand Lanarkshire has just had the worst snow for 40 years. Is your house finished Mo? It must be a nightmare coping with work men in this weather. We have had the coldest November since records began with temperatures of -19 at night and as low as -12.5 during the day. Lucy and her pals love it, even though the snow is deeper than the Spaniels but it makes travelling on the shoots very difficult.
Looking after the horses is also a nightmare, all the water pipes are frozen in the stables and even the doors were frozen shut one morning. Not much fun especially as we are unable to ride.
I suppose thgings can only get better. Love Colins photos of the birds. We have every species imaginable visiting our bird feeders at present but they are costing me a fortune. We had four Robins on two seperate feeders which I think is quite unusual as they are often very territorial - they must be hungry.
Hope the weather soon improves for every one.
