By After our very brief trip to Scotland (my first) I can recommend the Portsonochan Hotel on the side of Loch Awe. As we had the dogs with us we were put in one of the self catering apartments in the coach house rather than a hotel room which was much better for us as there was lounge, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. When we went over to the hotel as long as we eat in the bar or lounge the dogs were made very welcome. The manager used to breed/work GSPs and really loves Munsters so every meal time they were brought plates of shortbread biscuits. They had to be on a lead in the hotel but it didn't matter that we weren't attached to the other end, although all they did was lie down and rest anyway.
This was taken on our way up luckily, as the weather then turned foul!
