Well after our sucessful day yesterday with Ellie qualifying for crufts, today it was Kizzies turn in the lime light and boy did she make the most of it. We had our first batch of Good Citizen Awards Assessments at work this evening and I was so proud of how well everyone did, but to top it off at the end of the evening Kizzie had not only achieved her Bronze but also her Silver! what a little super star.

Off to have a wee drink and give the dogs a treat

Good luck to all who are going to the Show tomorrow, but a special wish for 'my' Aero, especially as it will be his second birthday on Monday, we send you lots of love and hugs.
I hope the weather keeps fine for you, it's never the same when it rains.
Was saying to John and Fiona, wished we lived a little nearer, would loved to have joined you on your day at Peebles hosted by Carol and Colin.  It is great that you all meet and support one another - it is what owning a munster is about, sharing and caring and having fun times.  Well done.  Great pictures.

Hi Folks,

Glad to hear Ghillie might now be on the mend. I really hope he makes a full and quick recovery. It would be nice to see him again. I can't imagine how stressful this must have been for you. He has certainly had you through the ringer this year.

I am really looking forward to SKC this weekend. I believe the weather is to be cloudy with sunny intervals in the morning then rain in the afternoon. I believe we are 1st in ring 6 and judging starts at 9.30am. Looking forward to catching up with you all there.

Pam and Elvis

So glad you all had agreat time at Carol & Colins on Sunday. I was so sad that we couldn't make it but I didn't think it was fair to risk all of your dogs as we still don't have all of Ghillie's results from the vet school yet. I can only say no news is good news and if anything was amiss I am sure we would have heard. The improvement in him since the vet school medications and diet have been in place is unbelieveable. We weighed him at the vets this morning and he has already put 6 lb of the 10 he had lost back on. Just so I don't get too complacent at this upturn in his health, he got stung by a wasp on Saturday and by a bee yesterday!!! Frank said for gods sake don't take him to the coast cos he is sure to get stung by a portuguese man o war that lost its way, or eaten by a great white checking out the northern waters. Seriously though it is wonderful to see him looking so much better. I won't be taking him to the SKC but will pop along to say hi to everybody so see you then.

Lindsey

I was so sorry to hear that Kelsey was no longer with us she was quite a matriarch for the scottish munsters, shown well in the photo below with Skye and spring and in a fond memory from one Islay's early ringcraft classes where Auntie Kel show'd her wat to do.

I would love to make Sunday but not sure if I will be able to following my accident on Saturday, still sore and not sure if i'm ready for being munstered yet but maybe by the end of the week.

We hit quite a milestone yesterday it was Rhys' first day at school, where does the time go?

Sunday 23rd Aug

We were very sad to hear of Kelsey. She was your first munsterlander and you looked after her well for her to reach 14 and a half. Its never easy to lose a pal and were sure you will be missing her loads.

Had a look for some photos of her and afraid not many but this is one of my favourites of the ones we have taken. It was at Camperdown park where Kelsey is showing 6month old Skye and Spring the way.

w19_dundee_fun (89).JPGI've sent an email to a few of you guys that are interested on coming on Sunday 23rd with details on location etc.

At the moment I don't have everyones email address but will get the info to you over the next few days. Cheers Carol & Colin

I am sorry to hear that Kelsey has crossed over the rainbow bridge. It is never easy to say goodbye to our old and much loved ones and as you say we can only be glad that we have the opportunity to repay all that they have given us by letting them go to rest with dignity. Thinking of you all.

Lindsey & Frank

A very sad note to let you all know that we had to let our old pal go today. she had been fine up till now but after her tea this evening one of her back legs gave way and she was very shakey when she got going again. as we didnt want her to suffer and as she desereved all the dignity she has always had we got the vet to put her to sleep. as you can all imagine we are devastated. kelsey has been such a huge part of our lives and the kids have never known the house without her in it. she had reached the age of 14years and 8 months and was a happy healthy dog right up till the end thankfully. it will take a lot of getting used to her being gone and we are all in a daze here at the moment not quite taking it in. she is buried next to kai alba grange and purdie so i hope they find her and show her the way to rainbow bridge. sleep well old pal we will miss you so much.

It is with great sadness we have to tell you that Kelsey has gone to rainbow bridge .The Logie family made the most difficult decision to have her put to sleep early this evening   She did not suffer and was in no pain it was all very peaceful just as Nicky wanted for her favorite girl
Kelsey was a great ambassador of the breed  she excelled in the Show ring   and at agility.
There will be a big party on Rainbow bridge  with Kai .. Alba.. and all her other friends.

We are all thinking about the Logie family who yet again have lost a dearly loved member of their family.

New kitchen

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Finally, the council have got round to giving us new kitchens this week. Mine was the first to be done. It's great being able to open a kitchen cupboard without wondering if the door was going to fall off! All they need to do now is decorate and put new floor coverings down. Yes, they are paying for that too LOL!

The word is that we will get new bathrooms sometime in the next few years........!

If you can spot them, they are fantastic and check out for the orange sky lights too.

Fox

Yes Gill had this happen...when staying at Helens  dogs slept out in the car  over night  one of them was in season and all night the foxs outside were howling round the car..Helen mentioned this to the local gamekeeper he said this is very common  and one way to keep number of foxs down in the area (He was a Gamekeeper)  Asked Helen to let him know the next time I came down with bitchs i season...I will not say what plans he had for the foxs  it certainly was not "sex"?!!

Fox Trouble

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Now I know you are all going to think i'm am completley nuts but this is 100% truth I promise (I do have a photo to prove it).

I had real problems a few months back (last time Ellie was in season) with a local fox who suddenly became completely obsesed with my fron garden and car. I was so concerned as I have 2 cats, 2 dogs and a young son and I caught the fox staring in the open front door and trying to get into the back seat of my car (I was moving boxes from the car to the house and everytime I turned there he was!). I kept the cats in from mid afternoon till mid morning for the next week or 2 and the dogs supervised in the rear garden, they are not small dogs but he had no fear of them (and very little of me) at all. Anyway her season went and so did he, possibly a coincidence???

Well I was just thinking the other night Ellie is just about due in season (showing no signs yet tho). When I left for work this morning the fox was about and so was one of my cats (how will try and see the fox off, I have seen him try in the past) so chased the fox and put the cat in the house and though nothing else of it. But, I have just gone to lock the front door and noticed something move at the back of my car, on closer inspection its the fox. Shouted my boyfriend to look as it was standing with its front feet on the back bumper sniffing the boot (Ellie was at work with me today and travelled in the boot). By the time I went back to the window he was on the roof of my estate sniffing the top of the boot door. I couldnt believe my eyes so caught a pic on the camera (v blurry cos of lack of light but you can tell what it is).

Has anyone else ever had problems like this or has any suggestions how to deter him? I've never had trouble like this before and Ellie has had seasons before without problems as did my previous bitch.

Workshops

Thanks to John, Fiona and Aero for attending today I hope you enjoyed your day. One problem tho... I think I have brought the wrong dog home!! It looks like Ellie but is soo chilled out it can't possibly be lol. Would also like to say a big thanks to my Mum for keeping the kitchen running smoothly and Clare and Val for leading the Workshops I certainly got a lot out of them.

Got 3 classes tomorrow night then thats me on Holiday for nearly 2 weeks, although I am certainly needing it, has been one very busy weekend.

Gill

Thanks to Gill for arranging a very informative training workshop. Loose lead work and TTouch. Very enjoyable, I'm sure Aero will benefit greatly. He's looking more relaxed already :)))

Lovely hot day down at Peebles..good time had with Colin and Carol
