Wendy... re Ghillie

Hi Wendy, thanks so much for the info. I haven't heard of Kaojel before. Ghillie and Jig (one of my collies) are permanently on Protexin Biopremium which I order on the net from Vet uk. Ghillie and Jig are both still on fish/potato and chicken. I am feeding them both small amounts every 3 hours. The vet has sent bloods and stools off for analysis for Ghillie and has him back on erythromycin again. I am frankly quite terrified about reintroducing his normal diet again. He usually has Royal Canin junior. He was on the giant and the problems seemed to start when I changed him from the giant to the maxi junior. I don't think it was the diet that caused the problem. He does eat anything and everything and the change might have exacerbated the problem as the maxi is smaller than the giant nuggets which he had to chew and which slowed down the speed at which he ate!!!! His fish and potato is now being served in his special 'knobbley' bowl which I bought at Crufts which means he has to eat more slowly. I did use the frozen tripe in addition to his other food several moths ago and that certainly helped his weight increase. I still have some in the freezer and when he is stabilized might start adding small amounts again.

Lovely pictures of Aero at Leeds. He really is one of my favourite boys. Was so sorry I couldn't go, but apart from Ghillie's poor condition, there was no way I could have risked taking him to mix with other dogs until I know what his lab tests come up with.

Will certainly try the kaojel. Many thanks,

Lindsey
