good news

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Wendy, that is such good news about Lewis. I bet his owners are over the moon at having found him safe, and in his own home ground. I think we all know the feeling of losing a dog, even if it is just for a few minutes on a walk, but to lose one overnight, or longer, is just unthinkable. {{{{hugs}}}} to his owners, and Lewis, of course...
LEWIS HAS BEEN FOUND, HE HAD TAKEN HIMSELF OFF INTO A QUIET OUT OF THE WAY AREA ON HIS OWN LAND AND HAD LAID THERE FOR TWO DAYS.  DEHYDRATED BUT ALIVE.
DESPITE SEARCHES AND HARVEY (MUNSTER) LOOKING FOR HIM HE WAS LAID IN A HOLE AND DID NOT MAKE A SOUND.  IN AM SURE WE ALL SEND THE FAMILY OUR LOVE AND SPECIAL THOUGHTS FOR LEWIS.
I have had some sad new from one of my puppy owners, her older dog Lewis went missing on Thursday afternoon.
Having building work done at their home they had temporary gates in place but they believe Lewis managed to get through but more upsetting is that they said Lewis was unwell and think he may have gone away to be on his own.

Gwen lives in Crowborough, East Sussex Lewis.JPGbacking onto Ashdown Forrest. The police have been very helpful but with no joy.

Please, if in the area look out for Lewis. Photo attached. He is 9 years old.

I won't be able to close my shed door for a while, at least not until they have fledged!

DSCF0625.jpgThey tried last year but the chicks were killed not long after hatching, so fingers crossed for this year.

Zeph is handsome! I look forward to meeting you at the club show, I don't believe we have met.

Some pictures from our recent holiday in Wales.

Hi All

Here are a few pics of Zeph at 9 months.
I am hoping to be at the LMC gathering on the 6th June all depends on work commitments so hopefully I can catch up/meet you guys there.

Cheers

Alan
Well done again Pam and Elvis ...  nice ending to a good day winning the £50 as well.

Also Erin,  who does brilliant at dog handling having had great successes at Crufts, next we will be seeing her on Horse of the Year Show.  A little super star.

GBAS

Hi,

Elvis and I had a GREAT day at GBAS yesterday, not only did we take 1st in Open and Best of Breed (which had a special £5 prize!!) but also Elvis won £50 in the raffle!!!! We stayed for the BIS judging, didn't get anything but I was really happy with how Elvis performed. I was told afterwards that he had moved beautifully round the ring so I was pleased to hear that.

Erin did a great job handling Poppy, Suki and Tilly yesterday. Especially as she had never handled Suki before and she isn't the easiest to handle. Well Done Erin - You are a wee star. Love the pics of your horse. Looks like you are mastering that skill very well too.

weight

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
I can't believe that Seska is heavier than Elvis! I had her at the vets a couple of months ago for a course of AB's and she weighed 31Kgs! No idea where the weight is. There is nothing to her! Must be all muscle.... Chance is about 33 Kgs. no idea about Chloe and Pepsi. Though Chloe is heavier than she should be, greedy thing LOL! She wants to finish off everyones food so I have to watch her very closely. She does love her food, unlike Seska, who is a nightmare to get food into.

Wasn't it cold? I was so glad that we could leave at 2.30 ish. Unfortunately we didn't get home until about 8.30. Not bad for what is usually a 1 3/4 hour journey........

Did you know that another cars alarm system can stop your immobilizer? Neither did we, until today.

Well done to all who did well today. I think the pole was in the right place this year. No chance to run into it!

Lindsey Erin won two  first's   @ junior handling qualifying for Crufts ..well done on yuour win lots of pictures  below picture of Elvis and ? did anybody see this women ?

elvis nicky.jpg

Woohooo actually able to post on here tonight after failed attempts over the last couple of weeks. CONGRATULATIONS to Pam & Elvis on a great win today.

It was soooo cold, still thawing out. Sorry I didn't get to say cheerio Mo, I was frozen and the arthritis in my fingers was killing me. All I could think of was, home, hottie, coffee and pain-killers!!!!!

I really enjoyed my day though...we finally broke our duck by actually beating another dog to gain our first in junior dog. I was so mad with myself for our performance in puppy, Ghillie stood beautifully but I really messed up moving him...think I am still on a major relearning curve!!!!

Well done to Erin...was that red rosette for junior handling?

Mo ..don't forget ringcraft is at Gowkthrapple next week. That will be our last session for a bit as we are off to the lake district for 3 weeks and will travel from there for the club show.

All for now, hugggzzz Lindsey

I took the pic [now i am worried its crap and i will get a row!!!!] erin looks after him cleans him out everyday , which is no mean feat as he isa tink and craps everywhere so everyday she takes out 4 wheel barrow loads of straw and stuff and replaces it with clean stuff them sweeps all round his stable to make sure its tidy . she gooms for half an houra day to keep him shiny and in good condition then rides him for about 40mins to and hour a day. its a busy life. tonight he gets out for two hours free running in the field so she only rides for 30mins. we catch him at 6 then off to agility with wee surf.  off to skc tomorrow.

RBCC at National Dog Show 2009 - Isla "HANECHDENE BLACK VELVET"

(Photo taken by Mo @ Crufts!)

Isla won the RBCC on friday. I was so over the moon and I nearly resorted to tears as I was emotional but managed to hold them back. My baby girl as I call her did me proud and I can never ask any more of her.

I love my girls dearly and to achieve that with them is a fantastic achievement!!

Thank you to all who congratulated me and the continued support you give.

I'd also like to congratulate Rita and Sandra on their Sh.Ch titles, what an achievement also. Elspeth for her kind words, Pam, Mo, John (Aero), Wendy, Ann, Jan, Caz, Michele, Erica, Sandra, Michael and Karen for their kind words also and many of the others who congratulated me as I am in a bit of a whirlwind at the moment so i'm going to thank generally!! Thank you!!!!

Went down to Birmingham for a double Whammy..we entered the show  and brought this handsome youg man back up to his home land......he is looking for a new home..he is nearly 9months old and is a lovely wee boy.But very hard to get pictures of  he never stands still??!!

Thanks for the info re the trophies. Now, where did I put the duster???????? I'm sure I have one here somewhere, underneath all that dust......... and dog hair ...........

Gill. I'm so sorry to hear about you aunt. Claire's great aunt passed away at the beginning of the year and we are still sorting out the house. Unfortunately for us the old saying of "Where there's a will there's a relative" is coming true. I truly hope you don't have the same agro we are having. It's so hard at times like this. My thoughts are with you.

You didn't say where you were though ...  are you showing on Friday ?

Trophies

Yes Linda - I am sure one of us will take the trophies for you.  I am not at Club Show this year ...  my son getting married on that day, so I will be in my best bib and tucker.

Mo you said, 'cold, wet and windy down here' - where are you - sitting in my garden.

We are camping on thursday night, me in my little motor home and Karen in a tent next to me
I am certain we will both have hot water bottles as well as a dog or two to keep us warm.

Been asked to post ...

" You can bring their Club trophies to Birmingham (Fri) or to SKC. PLease remember to make out a receipt to be signed by the third party receiving them.
If they needed engraving - I'm sure they will have been done. Like wise all clean and shiny !
Thanks"

Hope this helps...Linda would would be in your element down here it is wet..windy and very cold..

Dog Shows

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

My last show was Driffield last year! Though I think the last time we talked would be at SKC in August..!?!?!? I haven't been to any shows this year. I'm not mobile, I'm afraid. That's also one reason why I won't be entering GBAS. I don't think it would look good turning up in the same car as the judge.........!!!!!! Though the main reason is that I don't think it is fair to travel year in, year out with someone and then enter under them. Even though Tina hasn't handled any of my dogs I still wouldn't do it.

As to holidays. Hmm. Can't remember when I last had one of those. I think Jenni would have been about 7 years old at the time and we visited my brother in Maidstone. If I can't take my dogs then I just don't bother. Though if someone wants to give me an all expenses holiday in somewhere cold and white......(Iceland would be nice) I'm sure I could be talked into it.... I don't do hot weather....

Hi Linda,

Thanks for correcting me on that - I just saw 18th Ju and presumed it was June. That'll teach me to skim read things!!!LOL Seriously though I am glad it's July as I will be able to go, it is 1 of my favourite Open Shows of the year. Although if I was lucky enough to be able to take a month long holiday then I would maybe sacrifice it!!!LOL

I hope you do make it to SKC - it would be nice to see you. I can't remeber the last show I saw you at. Might have been GBAS in November.

Pam and Elvis

Pam

Firstly, well done to you and Elvis at the weekend. I tried to talk Jenni into bringing me along for a looksee but Elise was being a right little &*%^!!

Dundee show is in July, not June! so you should be able to come, unless you are lucky enough to be going on holiday for a long time (like a month!!!)

Hoping to be at SKC, just need to get a dogsitter. I forgot it was a Friday. Claire will still be at school so I'll hve to speak to my lovely neighbour. She usually lets the dogs out for me when I'm away.

Wendy, do you know who I get in touch with about the club trophies? I could arrange to hand them back at SKC.

I was in the print shop today asking about this show. The show has been moved to 18th July this year and the schedules aren't yet out. I am so glad it's July, not June, as I have so much happening this June. It's my dad's 75th birthday and my oldest brother is flying in with his family from Malaysia so I am keeping all of June free...... I haven't even entered the club show this year.

......Gundog Breeds Association of Scotland Open Show

Sunday 24th May 2009 - Dewars Centre, Perth Ice Rink, Perth, PH2 0TH

Large Munsterlanders will be judged by Mrs T Williamson

We have 4 Classes - Junior, Graduate, Limit and Open

Schedule Here - http://printmatters.info/printmatters3/dogshow/schedules/GBASM9/classes.pdf

Entry Form Here - http://printmatters.info/printmatters3/dogshow/schedules/GBASM9/entryform.pdf

Thanks Wendy and Phill, I was very pleased with our win on Sunday. Think Elvis was more pleased with the big swim after it though!!!LOL Phill, we will need to get a meet up soon, haven't seen you guys for ages. You should definitely go the the Nat Apt, it's a brilliant day out. Fun and relaxed as well as being informative.

I was looking for the schedule for Dundee Canine Open Show today - couldn't find it but on the front page of print matters website is says it's been moved to THURSDAY 18th June!!! What a dissapointment that was - I love this show but again I'll be on holiday plus it's a Thursday!!! Do you think that will affect the number of entries having it mid week? I hope it doesn't as it really is a smashing show.

Sorry - long time no post - hope you are all well.
May see some of you on Friday - if not, sure we will the 15th.  I understand we are second in at Scottish Kennel - has anyone else heard that ?

Next week at Nat Gun starts at 9 am and Stafford on a Friday morning will be very busy so allow plenty of time.  I am camping next door to show ground the night before so if you are about and fancy a drink or two it is called Park Farm - entrance just before show ground.

Is one of those wet dogs Aero by any chance Mo ?

Ruby doing okay only visited the vet once this month ....  eaten something that upset her system.
Travel safely.   cheers     Wendy
