is that suki turning tri coloured check out her cheek.
as for young ghillie. how bout cutting down his food and feeding him in a treat ball. you can stick the biccies in using peanut butter or other things. you can actually find recipies for kong fillers on the internet. it makes him work more for his food and keeps his brain occupied for a while to give you guys a break.
Love hearing about my wee (??!!) puppies when they go to the big bad world...both of these sound as if they are perfect... you both still have the adolescences stag to go thro' when hormones rushing around..that is when the fun starts??!!
Mo
No I have not been to any ringcraft classes but we have been taking him to puppy classes on a Monday night, unfortunately the ring classes are on a Wednesday night in our area and I coach football on a Wednesday.
Like most Munsterlanders he loves to hunt and I had to rescue a pheasant from him last weekend which he had gotten hold of in the hedgerows, he is obsessed with rabbits and Zeph and his pal Wilson often chase deer in the woods near us.
He is not so bothered about water but he is starting to wade in the river but he hasn't actually swam yet, his recall is good unless he is on the trail of some sort of quarry, he will sit and wait and lie down and he only eats his food from his bowl when you tell him too.
All 'n' all he is very good and I couldn't imagine life without him, if they are all like him i would love another one!! but don't tell my partner Janet!!!
Well, we've reached the stage where we wake up and look outside and hope it isn't a windy day, so that Ghillie won't pick up the trail of every deer, pheasant, mouse etc and disappear over the horizon on our daily walk. However, having learnt that dogs hunt into the wind I am able to tell other dog walkers where their missing springer spaniels are likely to be!
Ghillie has taken to swimming as keenly as he has to hunting. We chose the enthusiastic thug from your last litter, Mo. He is really keen to learn things, and he does get bored on weekdays when his walk is an hour and then he has to entertain himself for the rest of the day, with occasional bits of attention from us. Any suggestions, for entertaining a munster that can't type or make cups of tea, yet?
Here is Ghillie reunited with his lead, having climbed out of Tarn Hows where he was trying to swim out to the geese.
And here I am exercising my ears -
Hi Allan it is great to hear from you...you are lucky to have a laid back pup not an expression I would use on Poppy?! ..Munster talk..yes we like to talk..Maggie is my great talker ..apparently she took that and feet stamping from her dad..Ralph..and the more you speak to her the more she speaks?
Have you been taking Zeph to Ringcraft class? there are a few shows in the summer in your nick of the woods..keep the pics coming.
Mo
I thought you would like to see Zeph at 7 months old, he is doing fine and is such a laid back character even when I take him to the pub on a Friday night he just stretches out on the floor and goes to sleep like an old lurcher!
The other dog in the photos is Wilson his long suffering 8 year old pal Zeph always wants to play fight with him and Wilson just takes it on the chin and puts up with the unruly youth.
I am at work at the moment and the wee man is lying on the floor chewing a toy and talking to me!! I take it this is a Munsterlander trait as he will happily chatter to you all day long.
Hope you are well and hopefully we can all meet up again one day.
All the best Alan.
I thought it was Robert and Lucy but didn't like to ask direct.
Cheers Wendy
The farm we organized for you to camp on last time was Robert Wilson farm which is the farm next to Playfair Hannays farm. Lucy and Robert had a baby probably a year ago now..
do you want me ask them again for you (you did not stay there last time did you?) last year they were happy for people to stay ..they were going to set a field aside ..actually Nicky and Gill camped there now I think about it ...they said it was great with a whole field to walk the dogs,
let us know
Mo
Day on the Sunday. I know last time someone offered us a field not too far from the Nat Apt ground for us to 'wild camp' (we are self sufficient don't need loos or electric) but can't remember who or where or if the offer still stands ?? I know Carol and Colin did offer but think they are just a little too far away to go between the two/three days. We don't like staying on the show camp site, can be a little (ha ha) noisy and also restrictive where you walk. If anyone can give me any info asap would appreciate it. (We both have small motor homes).
Still many more vodeos of Crufts to go up.....You have not escaped
Mo

Mo
Hi Mo, Nicky and everyone.
This is what Ghilllie'
s been doing whilst you've all been so active. Celebrating his 7 month birthday [ Born14th August? i get confused with Brewies birth date.]
A bit tired, but he did encounter his first pair of hares over the weekend. Fortunately he was on the lead at the time. Gordon's arms are still hanging out of their sockets.
He also enjoyed a spot of television last night. Here he is watching the No1 Ladies Detective Agency. The bit with the lost dog in it. He also likes football on the box - he tries to eat the players. I approve of this.
Mo - he grew out of his tartan collar. If anyone knows a source of large tartan collars, please let us know.
And to prove that he has got legs and does move about, this morning he encountered his first deer. Again we were fortunate because we were in a small, fenced wood. He disappeared over the horizon, yipping wildly, whilst the deer made a quiet exit in the opposite direction. so, not great at hunting yet, but full marks for enthusiasm.
And here he is, with legs, on holiday in the Borders three weeks ago. He has grown since.
We are currently running 'puppy boot camp'. Recall is expected at regular intervals on walks, but obviously fails if he is down wind of something interesting. Walking on a loose lead is coming along, if we walk very quickly! And, if the blackbirds in the garden aren't being too interesting and the treats are good we can do sit, wait, down, up in rapid succession. off the evening stroll round the village, fast.......
Had an email from webmaster for Tayvalley The schedule will be up tomorrow
Mo
Mo
Had a query re entry form for Tayvalley here is my link..Printmatters only thing Tayvalley not there??!!
Mo
found Tayvalley but the link doses not seem to work??pitalpin
oh well I did try
Looks like a great time was had by all today. Very sorry we were not able to join you. It looks like dry weather in the pictures, perhaps we are the bringers of rain whenever we come along?
It would have been lovely to meet Wendy, who helped to introduce us to the joys of munster ownership!
Happy birthday for yesterday Erin.
A good date to have a birthday. My brother was born on Friday 13th and he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and one in each hand. He got all the good things in life, which left my other brother and myself to pick up the dregs, lol! If we ever have anything important happening we try to see if it happens on Friday 13th, as we know it will bring us good luck....
Many happy returns to Erin and Maggie who are now both 11....I to cannot believe it!!
hope you get lots of lovely presents Erin and Maggie and lots of fun
Mo
I have returned from my trip up North ..below is the pad I escape to ..it belongs to Rhuri and Tina
The field in the foreground belongs to them too and when they first went there they got two sheep to keep the grass down..they were stolen..Michael and Tina thought they saw them down the road in another field?!!.. You can see you just cross the single track road to get into the forrest..munster heaven..and Mo heaven..
Mo
Many thanks for that Carol. I have seen that chaps advert on Ebay but was a little wary, good to know someone has made a purchase from him - he's based in Yorkshire too so could always collect.
Enjoyed the coverage on the fields sports chanel. Yes Mo, you were right there was a munster in the big ring, quite dark coloured and last dog on the left as you looked at the screen.Look forward to seeing your photos.Do the Munsters have a team in the Gamekeepers' section?
Some agility links
from agility eye you can get to the following forum where you might spot someone selling second hand.
http://agilityforum.agilityaddicts.net/
Got some jumps from ebay when the following ebayer put some jumps on as a proper auction. He was also very reasonable with post and package when you buy multiple items.
Got the larger stuff from premier agility
Gill thanks for that link it is brill.. I think I saw the munster in the "big ring"
Nicky what a lovely picture of Erin she is growing up so quick and into a lovely young lady.
I am away up north again at this moment (so much for being retired) see pic above
But I will be at home next weekend and should have time to sort out my pictures of Crufts and wee videos... Vicky can you wait till then?
Lucy ....Carol and Colin bought agility stuff on the internet recently I am sure they will tell you where...
Mo
Hi Mo
Hope you all had a wonderful time at Crufts. I had hoped to go but transport and dog sitting proved a problem.Have looked on the Crufts site but apart from results didn't see any munsters. Would you be able to put your pictures, partucularly those of Erin, up on this site?
Lucy would love to see them!!!!!
PS
Where would I buy agility equipment? Am thinking about introducing Lucy and Misty to the world of agility when they are old enough.
Would you be able to email me them? I would love to see them as I only have a couple and the rest are very blurred.
Thanks a lot!!
I have to put my hand up....I have pics of most of all the dogs there on Saturday ..including you and your dogs Vicky
Mo

the first place in handling is for kai and alba - we will never forget you.i am sure you were there cheering erin on.
Last summer Helen came for a walk over our moor..which is a hugh "peat bog" the track is well churged up and inpassable with a car on saying this to Helen she said "my 4 wheel vechicle would manage this na bother" well on walking Maggie and Suki over moor came across these poor people who thought the same thing??!! they only went up the track to find a cattery ..they are looking for a kitten..apparently in this area there are none to be had ..so they came all the way from Glasgow ...and well no cattery up this track? they were still there when I returned from the walk having just phoned the AA ..and this is just a field a lot better than the rest of the track?
the girl in the jeep said she was not coming out...and she was driving the thing as her partner tried to pull...she said she did not have a license to drive it...I said well you are having a really bad day as I am a police man..... her partner just looked dumb struck? hope they are not still there in morning..
Any way Looking forward to seeing you at the weekend Wendy have a good journey up
Mo
I don't think I'll be able to go to that one, seeing as my driver is judging the breed............
Haven't been to HPR in Selkirk for a few years, 3 hours drive is a bit much for an open show, especially if I have to borrow a car.
Might speak to Bruce this weekend and see if he will let me borrow his car again. Last time I borrowed it was for the Club Champ Show last June, and we know how well we did there......

It is always a good time out.
Mo
Hi Everyone,
Wendy Lacy is coming up to Bonnie Scotland this weekend for a wee visit so a few of us have decided to meet at Mugdock Country Park for a walk on Saturday 14/03/09. As usual the more munsters who wish to join us the merrier.
We will meet in the Craigend Visitor Car Park at 10am, go for a nice long walk and Swim then it'll be back to the coffee shop for the usual rolls and bacon, coffee and cake!!!!
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Pam and Elvis
... To Erin this weekend. What a wee star. I am looking forward to hearing the full list of your Crufts Achievements.
I had a fabulous time on Saturday. The atmosphere ringside was great, really relaxed and friendly. I was disappointed that Elvis didn't get placed but I was over the moon with Suki's 3rd Place in the large Post Graduate Bitch Class. This was her 1st time in Post Graduate (I think) so a good start to the year for her.
Pam and Elvis xxxx
You take all success in your stride and it is so well deserved. Just shows with love, patience and the gift to work with animals what you can achieve and what you have achieved already in your young life. Keep it up. Had to chat to your mum and dad who were telling me of your love for horses too. My dream was always to choose and capture a wild free horse running on the planes of America (think I watched too many Champion the Wonder Horse TV programmes !!)
I am sure you will have many more successes in the dog world. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.
Erin and Buz got 2nd in Agility and so can be seen "online" at www.crufts.org.uk at 17.15 today and They did really well in Obedience also so log and see it all
Mo
Ellie is in a complete sulk, first Kizzie got to go on holiday to grannies without her and then she got put in the BATH lol. We are now even tho after she used my trousers (which I was wearing) as a towel monster. She is now sleeping quite content on my foot.
We leave in the morning so safe journey to everyone travelling to crufts look forward to catching up on Saturday.
Gill
Snow was a bit doddgy this AM coming into work ..Motorway to Edinburgh from Glasgow closed..always bad @ Harthill ....quite high.. Hope it is all gone by Friday
Mo
Good Luck to all of you who are showing on Saturday. I hope you have a safe journey down. Looking forward to meeting a few more new faces.
Lindsey
...to all attending Crufts this year.
We will be there and I am so very excited as it is my firs time there and I am really looking forward to the experience. Moreso, I am most looking forward to seeing everyone again.
Mo
Nicky, keep an eye on the weather. Snow is forecast for tomorrow.......
I have remembered another reason why I didn't enter. I hate the weather....I had to leave early in 2006 because of the snow. That was a journey home I really don't want to remember. Snow drifts on the motorways, ice rinks for car parks.... Why can't they move it to a decent time of the year? Like January............?!?!?! LOL
We set off first thing on Thursday morning for Crufts so not long now, be prepared for a phone call on Thursday Nicky when we cant work out how to put the awning up lol.
Gill
That's a good score for a Gordon. I notice in the latest BRS that the scores went from 4 to 84!
I've never heard of the panel doing the x-rays so quickly. Do you think people are waiting until after Crufts to get their dogs done? Saving the money to spend.............
Talking of Crufts. Beginning to wish I'd entered now. Oh well, I should have been home with a litter of pups so can't have everything. Good luck to all Scottish munster people going. Are you all going down the day before, or travelling overnight? Did that once. What a nightmare. I have never felt so tired.
Got communication from Tina...She had her Puppy Gordon setter "Celtaur Alban Elfed "hip scored on the 11th Feb & her vet got the result 26th Feb is this a record 15days for hip score resuls.
And a double Whammy for Tina the score was 3:5
Nae bad
