mouse problems

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

No, not the furry kind! My mouse has not been working properly for a couple of weeks and I was getting very frustrated. I now have a new one and can finally get back on sites I couldn't get onto before!

Welcome to the new people. Sorry, I forget names very quickly. I think it took me about a year to remember Tina's, and she lives just a few miles up the road from me...... I would love to meet you all at the next meet. I don't think I've made many (can only think of one at Nicky's off hand) and with my car off the road still I don't think I'll make the next one. Maybe the one after that.

Thanks for the welcome messages.  We look forward to another get together!

Vicky, I had seen your excellent site the other day - Oscar's half sisters look beautiful.  Hope we get to meet in the near future.  Also, nice to hear that you saw Oscar and the rest of his litter as puppies.  We first saw them at about 5 weeks old and could not resist!

Hi Phil & family.

It is lovely to see some pictures of Oscar. I went to see his litter twice when they were pups, they were all so beautiful.

He is coming on really well and I bet you are really proud of him. I own Oscars Half sisters (they share the same father).

Hello from Oscar!

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Hi everyone,

We are new to Scottishmunsters dot com, so thought a brief intro was appropriate.  We have already been on a couple of munster bashes though, so already had the pleasure of meeting some of you.  Both times we turned up we got soaked, hope we are not the bringers of bad weather!

My name is Phill.  My wife Angela and I have 3 young children and live in West Lothian. We have an 8 month old munster called Oscar (or Paddockridge Gamay to give him his full title).  Oscar has already had his moment of fame on this site, with his picture appearing on the write-up of the 11th January trip to Mugdock.

Here is another picture 2009_02150024.JPG of Oscar, taken during the recent snows on a trip to Ballater.

Vicky I love your new site  the link on Front page (under the stat counter) to Large munsterlander club goes to 404 ie dead link  you have linked to :
http://www.littlemissmunsterlander.co.uk/www.largemunsterlanderclub.co.uk...you have not reached the dissy heights of building / hosting the club website??  the link should just be to http://www.largemunsterlanderclub.co.uk/home.html   or what ever it is.  the rest of the site is great.
I have just been on the club site  and "result" all info required is available and with post codes  we are now in the right century  Thanks for that..

NEW WEBSITE

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Yes, so i've been working on this little side project for a while....it is my new website.

www.littlemissmunsterlander.co.uk

I am aware that your screen resolution may be different to mine so some images may repeat.

I hope you like it. It is mainly a personal website of mine to show people what me and the girls get up to and how we do in and out of the ring. The current layout is named "frosty morning" after the weather recently.

I would appreciate any feedback!

I am very proud of it, I think it is different.

I have had a couple of phone calls from Friends drawing to my attention some posts on some obscure "blog" stating I am "making myself look daft &  that I want to be nasty...." Judith I am surprised and disappointed in you.
I have put on some soothing music ..Ll Parnaso Confuso..Di Questa...lovely piece of musc..very soothing and will now respond to these posts.
Firstly I got up this morning at 5.00am and thought I must organise accomadation for a few shows ..The official club news letter was sitting  on my desk so I naturally went there to get the date and post code (Post code  easiest way to identify the closest Travel lodge to venue..just incase I have to spell it out..) of the Champ show to find no post code ; In this age of electronic devices Post codes are more important than addresses (maybe I am daft but I certainly am a gadget freak )
Next port of call was the official Munsterlander Club site (silly me) even less info. Yes this did make me very angry this info should be freely available on the club web site  Members do have to make arrangements timely to take advantage of Special rates in Travel lodges etc. This may make me a nasty person ...As to the information is on her website..I am impressed and honored that you use our site (scottishmunsters.co.uk) to  access information not found on other sites.
I did not recollect that we have a complete and up to date " show calender " on our excellent website and hence was lost for information.
I think one of the posts says "..petty people wanting to be nasty and pick fault...." I was not picking fault  or should I have mentioned ..Raymond Ogle ?!..You cannot attend AGM unless you are a member!!!.... I will pick fault if you wish.

I really did not want to respond to these inappropriate posts on the other blog  ..as I do have a life & at the moment it is very trying but I felt I had to put my side of the story..although I am not making excuses for what I said ..it was all true and fact and I would say it again.

Thanks for that Wendy  I think for the last few years it has been on a Saturday   ..as we always have a wee moan  ..as used to be on a Sunday..and was easier for us to get down to the "bowels of England" the day before the show  as usual we wee Scottish people have to "jut get on with it??""

Club Show

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Hi to one and all -  normally Club Champ Show is held on first Sunday in June, but because of the venue chosen we have had to hold it on the Saturday.  As you know venues can be difficult to acquire, especially now because of increased room hire charges, accessibility, fit for purpose, etc.,  though not involved directly, this venue, used before, was only available on a Saturday and fitted criteria so presume this was an oversight on change of date - and I have seen it on a couple of calendars also - but can assure you it is Saturday 6th June 2009  - cos I can't go, my son getting married (how inconsiderate  !!!)  When he told me the date he said with a little sarcassum (?)  don't tell me you have a show on that date !!!
So apologies for inconvenience - it is not that we wanted you to turn up on wrong date ...
honest.      Cheers    Wendy

Just trying to arrange accomadation for club show....Some confusion in club News letter  or Club web site.  News letter  states show is on 7th June 2009 (no post code)  and the club web site says it is on 6th June 2009 (No address far less post code?!!)...help and no links to information about the  25th Anniversary Championship Club Show  nor schedule etc.  how can I arrange accomadation when no one knows which day the club show is on??!!!!  unless it is on both days??!!  Anyone able to help?

We are using the van this year so will be travelling down on Thursday (hopefully) and staying at a campsite 3 miles from the NEC till the Sunday atleast (depending on Barry's shifts the following week). Will be a learning curve for all 3 of us as it will be our first trip away with the van and awning lol. Mind you thats all assuming we have no more disasters.

Tentsmuir the following weekend would be nice, hopefully there wont be snow this time as it was lethal on top of the sand last weekend that god the horses didnt struggle as much as I did.

Hi everyone,

I have just thought it would be wonderful if we could all meet up pre-crufts or post-crufts if any of you are staying down here (Stafford way).

I live in Stafford and the travelodge is on my doorstep. We walk the dogs on Cannock Chase.

If any of you are interested, can you let me know as I would love to do this.

Mo

Hello all,

It's been lovely having a well overdue visit to the news feed and see how everyone is.  It is good to see all the old and new dogs growing up, having fun and just basically being great dogs!

Mo - glad to hear that Maggie is on the mend. Can imagine it has been quite a stressful time.

We are all well here - busy, but enjoying life.  It's been an exciting time over the last year, as Rich has launched a magazine - Scotland Outdoors.  It's all about celebrating Scotland's world class outdoors.  It is a quarterly magazine, which covers outdoor adventures and activities, conservation, wildlife,  the natural diversity of Scotland and how to engage with it in different ways and so on! Here is a link to the website so you can find out more - www.scotoutdoors.com (and even subscribe to the magazine if you wish!)

And as for Rolf - he keeps us sane.  Over the last 3 or 4 months, he has turned a corner and has become a (pretty) well behaved dog, whilst still retaining his great personality - i.e. lust for life and people! He's a joy to be with. Here are a couple of pics of him in the recent snow.

Well, hopefully we will make it along to a gathering this year. We actually wondered whether there maybe another one coming up in March, perhaps at Tentsmuir again ..?

Keep well and take care

Jayne, Rich and Rolf

Thanks!

All you have to do is on the format drop down menu is select "None". This converts your writing input to HTML.

You then copy the video EMBED code from a site such as youtube etc and then paste it.

Although, the only downside is that you have to manually write in html your paragraphs (with the <br> code) or else it is all scrunched up like my last one.

Snow days

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Why is it that when you make plans something happens to change them? Jenni was due to come down and take Claire shoppiong (I hate it, Jenni loves it) but the snow has kind of buried her car! They finally had a digger and dumper truck out yesterday to remove some of the snow - and guess what she woke up to today? She can't see her car again - it's under all that new snow.....!!! At least we're not quite so bad her, just 6 - 8 inches, not 6 - 8 feet!

Here's Pepsi in my back garden this afternoon.DSCF0575.jpg

Good to see another Ghillie on Scottishmunsters. Are they related?

Mo, we met a friend of yours at Annandale service station on our way back from a business trip to Edinburgh on Friday. She and her daughter had just been to collect a new border collie pup. We didn't get her name but she said she had been 'lined up' to look after Ghillie for us last year until we could collect him from you, if you hadn't been able to look after him.

Here's our Ghillie out and about this weekend. No snow in North Lancashire but we can see it all around us. ghillie web.jpg

Glad to see Maggie is recovering well. You had mentioned before that Lucy was a Maggie clone and it wasn't until I saw the photograph of her on the bed that I realised why.Lucy is in a big sulk due to the arrival of Misty, infact they all are except for Rascal, who siezes the opportunity to steal her food at every chance!! Hope you Scottish Munsters are managing to keep warm!!!

Maggie on the mend

Ghillie & Co

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Just a quick catch-up. Sorry to hear about Maggie and glad that she is recovering now. Bloat can be a really frightening thing to see and deal with. Thank god for good vets. I have missed a couple of weeks at ringcraft cos of really bad cold which wouldn't go away and now I'm going to miss this week because Ghillie has a bug. Poor wee soul...it is literally pouring out of him. Vet has given him injection of antibiotics, immodium pills, recovery diet and some sachets of non dairy probiotic to add to his food for a few days. Worst thing is that neither he nor the collies are to have food today. They are all very greedy and live for mealtimes so I am def. not the most popular person in Scotland today. In fact I am hiding upstairs at the moment to escape Ghillies howls and the collies' accusing glares. Well done Elvis and Aero on your wins at show.

I was at Mugdock last Sunday morning and met a girl with a Munster - one of Tina's. She said she had never seen another munster there before so I told her that we sometimes meet for a walk. Isn't it funny, I have been going to Mugdock for years too and have never seen a munster there before. Hope everybody is coping ok with the weather. Love the snow, hate the ice...seem to spend more time on my bum than my feet. DSC_0011.JPG

Hi,

I am glad Maggie is on the road to recovery. She is a tough old bird. Looking forward to seeing her at the weekend to give her a big hug!!!

Aero does look like he's having a ball - the snow sure does funny things to the dogs. It really makes them hyper doesn't it. I must admit I am missing Elvis this week as he loves diving into the snow head first and rolling around in it. It's great to watch. Hopefully there will still be some snow around on Saturday Morning so I can get him out then. Although not too much as I am heading up to Peterhead on Saturday Afternoon and I don't want to be getting stuck anywhere.

What's up Gill, is there anything we can do? I hoe you feel better soon.

Have attempted to put up three pictures and a 'wee' video - hope it's worked.

Sorry to hear about Maggie, hope she makes good progress. I didn't realise munsters were prone to bloat. On a happier note we now have a new addition to the menagerie in the form of Misty - Springer Spaniel pup who arrived yesterday. Not a very good photograph but it is snowing a blizzard so she is staying indoors most of the time. She slept right through the night without making a murmur!!!Rascal is baby sitting again. Catching Up

Hi,

Went down to the Club Show yesterday. Had a good Day Elvis won the Limit Dog Class (only entry in all fairness though!!!LOL) then he was awarded Best Limit between him and the winner of the Limit Bitch Class. I was pleased with that. Also won a couple of prizes in the raffle so all in all a good day.

We travelled down with Fiona and Aero - it was a lovely trip. Aero did well at the show too - he won the Junior Dog Class. He looked smashing and moved well so it was a well deserved win. Well Done.

I am not good with all the results but I believe Best Dog and BOB went to a dog called Sh CH Yeldoaks Hot Favourite of Palangor. Best Bitch was Butler's Sh Ch Gorsebank Marchioness Lizi of Jendellas. There was some smashing dogs on show yesterday - it was great.

On a more serious note - Maggie was taken to the vets last night with Bloat. She has to have surgery to untwist the gut. I spoke to Maureen late last night and she made it out the operation but was being kept in overnight to monitor her. Maureen was phoning the vet this morning at 8am to hear how she is getting on. I haven't heard anymore from her so I am hoping all is well.

Maureen has had a very stressful couple of weeks so this is really the last thing she was needing. But Maggie is a tough old bird so hopefully she will pull through.
