Welcome to the world of munsterlander owners! They all love to grab hold of you or your clothes. It's their way of saying hello, pay me attention. One way to try to stop it (apart from saying no and turning away) is to give them something better than you to hold. In other words a favourite toy. If they have somthing in their mouths then they can't nip you, can they? Try leaving a toy near the front/back door where he can't see it and as soon as you come in and take your coat off pick it up so that you have something in your hand to offer. Unfortunately this will then become a game that has to be done every time for the next ** years............. but better that than a dog attached to your sleeve....... Another way used successfully is to have a jif lemon (empty of lemon juice) filled with water. Once hidden in your hand the dog doesn't see where the spray of water comes from, especially if you don't make eye contact. He will then associate the spray with the jumping and nipping, and hopefully will stop. No guarantees though, I'm afraid.
