Glad to meet you all. Skye and Spring sleeping to. Of now for a beer (or three!) All the best next year. Hic!
From me and all the Kalabagh munsters.
Seska is getting fatter by the day (just 3 weeks to go now!) Though I wish she hadn't eaten the swede the other day! Not only does it smell awful, I was up several times through the night with her.............. hee hee..........
Carol, just love the wally dogs....glad to hear you finally have a real fire. How's the rest of the house going?
Well done for BOB!
Munster bash, hmm, would love to be there but....hogmanay is my birthday! I'll be surrounded by my family (oh goody lol!) as they make fun of my age... Still I haven't reached half a century yet.... (only one year to go though....!!!) wonder if I could make a break for it.....??????
At the HPR show to everyone who is going.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SANTA!!!
Good luck for tomorrow. This is one of the shows I really enjoy, so will be thinking of you all enjoying the day out. As I mentioned to Mo recently I won't be there. I don't show a pregnant bitch, nor do I show my other dogs if I have a pregnant bitch, or pups. Just to minimize the chance of infection.
Keep an eye out for a family who live in the village. They have booked one of Seska/Chance's babies and will probably be along for a visit. Don't try to put them off too much. Visiting this lot didn't put them off, so I don't see how they will be...... hee hee
Hi Mo,
Sorry just catching up and noticed you'd asked if we knew of any walks near the show this weekend. It's a bit north of where we are so sorry we don't. I don't expect we'll be able to make this weekend but if that changes I've got Pam's number. (Pleased to hear you had a lovely birthday Pam).
Sharon
Nicky, why do you think I got rid of mine???? Ok, 2 of them are way past staying at home age and have kids of their own, and Claire spends a lot of time at her dad's but only because we have shared custody. It's so peaceful now they are older.......
Here's a pic of Seska showing her, erm, not too small belly to anyone who wants to see..... only 4 weeks to go now and I still haven't got the whelping room set up. Suppose I'd better make a start this weekend.
Firstly. Mo, how do you have a shower if you're not, well, erm, naked? hee hee.
Kali used to bring hedgehogs in all the time (or was it the same one?) They were never harmed and were always returned to the garden safely.
I once found a mouse inside my washing powder box! I heard a noise and couldn't figure out where it was comeing from at first. Again, I let it loose. I couldn't touch it though. Even though I used to keep mice when I was younger they were tame ones.
Anyway, here's today's culprit. Taken last year (I haven't put my tree up yet this year.)

Actually I think it's a mole or a vole....
I got up this morning and put the kitchen light on and this little black thing scuttled across the kitchen floor. I need to catch it before the cat decides to hunt it down - again. He's the culprit. He brought it in to play with and it obviously managed to escape. It's not the first mole I've caught in the house, or even the first little furry thing. I've had baby rabbits, mice, voles but thankfully never a rat. I've even had baby birds hiding behind the sofa...... Anyone want a cat..........??????????
Hi,
Thanks everyone for your kind Birthday Wishes!!! I had a lovely birthday. The celebrations started on Thursday when my friend Nicola surprised me with tickets to see Bjorn Again at the Armadillo in Glasgow. I then had a party in my wee flat on Saturday night and finally yesterday my sister made me a lovely birthday dinner, including a very delicious home made birthday cake!!! It's been brilliant.
Back to work & normality today sadly!!!LOL
Really looking forward to the little Xmas show on Saturday. What time is everyone thinking of being there at? I will probably get there for about 10ish. Hopefully the weather will be okay & we can get out a walk after it. Mo is on the case trying to find us soemwhere to go. If anyone knows that area & can suggest a nice place to walk please let us know.
Pam & Elvis
I had a call to tell me that Jenni was going to be calling in sometime today, so I finished wrapping Elise's presents and put them in a carrier and place them ont he floor. Claire's dad turned up to collect her so I went out to speak to him. I was outside for less than 2 minutes and when I came back in the pressies were all over the living room floor....the selection box was in bits and the chocolates missing. AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually found them with only a little bit gone from them, so no one dog had eaten a large amount, thankfully, but that will teach me to leave things where they can reach them. I will have to replace the sweets though, I couldn't give her chocolates with bite marks in them, could I?
I've had enough problems recently with Seska counter surfing. She is starting to think I'm not feeding her. I am, honest...
Happy birthday to Pam for tomorrow. I won't ask a lady her age.......but have a good one.
thought was funny :-)
If you're doing a survey to help then Poppy is my favorite.
p.s. we wont be visiting until your shower is fixed ;-)
... Nice one Carol.
Lovely video of 'puppy' so come on Mo whats her name gonna be? Is she comming to HPR? I've not seen her since she was tiny.
Gill
pups did you keep from your last litter.
At my last count its 4. Potty, Poppy, Penny and Pau Pau.
Pau Pau looks a steady tracker in the videos..
my favorite. I hope I am remembering correctly and he was the one who was Snoopy.
Where did the name Zeph come from?
Vicky you must be over the moon with your girls results. You'll need to try and make it up for the Natural Aptitude test too make a weekend of it.
Gill
Well done to you both (and to Carly too) You must be so pleased.
Who was the judge? Was it a gundog judge?
Wow, Isla went rbis at our local limit show last week out of 52 entries overall and 26 classes, I never thought it was going to end.
Both of the girls went first place in their avnsc classes, i was sooooo proud.
Border Union sounds tempting next year, it's my 18th birthday weekend!!!! ha ha ha ha!!!!
The owner needs to talk to the farmer and explain the problem, and that as the pup is still quite young they would like to train it to stop. Then hopefully the farmer will allow them to take the pup into the field where the sheep are, on a lead! Clicker training is the best way for the next bit, but any form of praise is good. Walk past the sheep trying to keep the pup interested on you, not the sheep. Click and treat when the behaviour is good. A firm no when things aren't. Heal work has to be good or this won't work. I know it isn't easy with a young pup. Everything is interesting, and bodies running away are far more fun than mum or dad. This isn't a quick thing to teach, but essential if walking near sheep is going to be a regular thing.
I won't tell you the way my old Springer was taught not to chase sheep. I wasn't there, but was told that the ram came off best!
to ask if you can walk your dog in one of their fields (with some sheep) with the dog on a long line to start with. Might be difficult just now as it must be about the beginning of the sheeps gestation period. (approx 5 months i think)
Walk in the general direction towards the sheep and anytime dog even looks at or goes towards a sheep then a very strong "leave it" or "no". and retreat away from sheep until your dog calms down and will focus on you either with one of their toys or sit/stay stuff. Then repeat. If Your dog doesnt calm down then go away and try the next day. You can go down the path of those citronella collars and use initially instead of the "leave it" or "no" commands. They do work unless you have a dog that doesn't mind the smell. i.e. Spring!
You will have to repeat quite regularly as I have found our munsters to be very enquisitive so initially they just want to find out what they are but getting close to the sheep make the sheep run then your dog just loves chasing anything that moves.
Just my two pennies worth.
In the summer time it has to be chocolate ice cream - any make will do, so long as it's chocolate.....
Winter time has to be hot apple strudel and vanilla ice cream.....
If I'm out in the car then it has to be chocolate. Cadbury's Caramel preferred but any chocolate.
Glad to hear you have doors Carol. I had a mental image of you nailing blankets to the door frames.......
then I'll add - Hagendas Strawberry Cheesecake Icecream
mmMM!
Cadbury's Caramel and a cup of tea.
We have doors now. ;-)
We dont have a fireplace as removed way back in August and a fireplace fitter let us down. Went somewhere else 3.5 weeks ago and they said 4-6 weeks. Fireplace pieces ready - just waiting on their fireplace fitters to schedule us in.
the current fire has a back boiler to heat the water for central heating etc.
Were using a portable gas heater just now and so so glad have two dogs. Use as book ends and things quite cosy.
Colin and Carole, I hope you are managing to keep warm and dry in this weather. The rest of us in nice warm and cosy houses tend to forget those who aren't. When my first hubby and I removated a house we lived in it at the time, but most of the work was done in the summer time so it wasn't too bad. Keep the doors closed in the rooms you aren't using and keep the fire going. And make sure you wrap up well.
Hi all,
We have entered Aero for the HPR Open show in Auchterarder. count us in for any planned "after gig party".

Gill
Well done Kelsey... Have a good day.
The montage is all Colins work. He used the Picasa software from Google. They've recently upgraded and Colin thought the "montage" feature was very good and easy to use.
Happy Birthday Kelsey!!!! She is a lovely girl - a realy credit to the Logies!!!! Hope she has a very Special day.
Chance does look very pleased with himself - I do hope everything goes well Linda & the you soon hear the patter of tiny paws!!!!LOL
Don't all forget to enter HPR today - I got my entry away this morning.

Pam
Happy birthday Kelsey. I remember going to see this litter and picking her out as my favourite, even then! LOL!
Oddly enough I found some old catalogues yesterday as I was tidying the spare room. I spent over an hour just looking and remembering the old shows where Kelsey used to beat us regularly.....! Have a good day Kelsey. You deserve it.
