September 2008 Archives
Maybe they are thinking about coming to Peebles to visit Spring and Skye...where the sun is always shining, well at least it did for one day this year !! They would learn how to find rabbits, pheasants and deer all things that Munsters love doing.
Love the photos of the pups, they look stunning and their expressions are fabulous....
Happy Birthday Nicky, what about EJ for the cats name...she looks like a bundle of fun, I'm sure she'll bring you loads of fun.
HI EVERYONE!
Sorry I haven't posted in LIGHTYEARS!
I have taken on an a level in psychology at college so I am very bogged down with both film work and psychology work!! ahhh! I will be needing to be looking at my brain! it's gone into OVERLOAD!
Puppies looking beaut as per usual - they always do.
I am now officially employed. I work in a restaurant/cafe in the local garden centre serving drinks and working the till. I love it.
Everyone there is so friendly - only downside is they have all the xmas decor up ALREADY!
how is everyone doing?
Ruby is forever in our families thoughts, Wendy.

Hey,
Wow - aren't they clever little puppies!!!! They look bigger again from Saturday.
Nicky, Kitten looks adorable. Names?? I am not the best at picking names (as you will all know seeing I own a dog called ELVIS!!!LOL) but what about Misha??
Pam

Mo
this is our new addition. she is my birthday pressie from eric. still to be named and suggestions welcome. she is meant to be 7 weeks but i think she is younger she is tiny can still fit on my hand. eating and drinking fine now although was being fed adult food fom where we got her - she was also covered in fleas but we put the stuff on her neck and that is now resolved . all the dogs are scared of her!!!!!!
Hi,
Sorry Mo, but I can't see the video?
Had a smashing weekend, it was great to see the pups on Saturday. Big thanks to Helen & Mo for letting Carol & I help with the assessing - it was pretty manic in that puppy room but it was a good laugh (Mo & Helen are quite the double act!!!LOL). Dinner was great too on Saturday night, will definitely go back there again. Carol, I hope you weren't too late back?
Went down to Ayr yesterday to see my sister at the caravan. Elvis was a Star, Beth was fascinated by him & he was quite happy to just stand there & let her pull at his ears (sipervised by me & Angie of course). I was pleased as Elvis hasn't had much contact with kids so I wasn't sure what he'd be like. Gold Star to the Boy!!!
Pam
Colin where are you?
That is great now you cam enjoy yor weekend
Mo
Ruby says a big thank you to you all for your love and concern.
Morning,
I must admit I though the puppy in the pic on www.scottishmunsters.net yesterday had brown legs but having seen them up close a lot since they were born I honestly think it is either the light you took the picture in or dirty legs. I'll need to get over at the weekend to investigate further - any excuse for a cuddle!!!!hee hee

Hi,
Mo, thanks for the lovely photo of my favourite littel boy - Elvis Junior!!!LOL He is sooo cute. Mind you, they are all very cute. Can't wait to see them again at the weekend.
I am not going to enter Midland Counties - I have really lost my showing Mojo at the moment. Think I will just stick to more local shows til next year now.
Pam
Midland Counties Closes tomorrow 17/9/2008 ?12.00 noon
If you dont enter you want win??!!
Mo
Thanks Wendy,
Skye and Spring's photos taken by colin's mobile phone and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality. It also helps when the dogs are standing still!
We should be at Darlington on Sunday so should see some of you guys there.
Wendy, Are you going to America soon?
The top photograph is super (not sure which one of your dogs) stood in the classic munster poise which we, I am sure, would all love to have of our own dogs. Both pictures are good and clear it's just the stand on the first one - it looks like our club logo.
Life here normal - well as normal as it can be with three munsters. Wet muddy dog towels on a daily basis and a permanent smelly car.
Maybe see some of you at the weekend. I understand ground not too bad but I would imagine still quite wet !!
Hi Mo
Those puppies are obviously doing very well their little tummies look fit to burst on the latest photo.Flowerpot always appears in shot obviously a favourite or an attention seeker. Is she vocal as well?!!!!t
....?
Happy Birthday Jager, Rosie and Elvis.
Yes Linda you win the prize ..as the saddest??!! only joking ..The litter with 3 girls and 1 boy that was ages ago..nothing else has come out of this "tpo scottish Kennel " unquote would have expected breeding out of a "top kennel" to continue lines.. end of story.
M
I've had enough of going through records waiting for paint to dry so here's another 2 Scottish bred litters with several qualifiers.
The Jagerreh 'C' litter has 1 dog and 3 bitches that I can confirm qualified in one year. There may be more, but I can't find them in my records (I'm sure there was another bitch)
Then there's the Celtaur 'R' 'N' litter. How could I forget that litter seeing as I own one of them!!! There were 3 dogs and 2 bitches, so do they win the prize? hee hee. 3 of this litter do live in Scotland.
Off to finish painting the bathroom. It still needs another coat of paint. I'm so sick of it. There are so many corners in my bathroom, and the pipework needs changing from dark green (not my colour choice) to white. That's why I need more paint...... AAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I must be one of those people as I went through Fosse data and Higham Press to check the other two litters......
It has to be a tie between Celtaur and Ellscott as both have 3 bitches and 1 dog qualified. Though three of the Celtaur litter have their stud book numbers by winning RCC's. I think that only 1 of the Ellscott has, but I'm sure about the male. He might have, so that would make 2 from that litter.
I do agree with your statement that your litter are the only ones living and bred in Scotland that have qualified.
It's good that we are doing so well with our breeding practices seeing as so few litters are bred in Scotland compared with other parts of the country. It must be all that good Scottish air!!!!!!
Had quite a few emails re that comment lots of sad people out there??!! he he..
I think Ellscott probably wins with 3 girls and one dog all qualifying ..but they dont all live in Scotland..which was part of the point..lots of sweeping statements being made all over the web!!
need to be sure you have your facts right..and that any one cares??!!
and to bore you even more..
Mo
I was right about the Celtaur litter. There were also 3 Ellscott bitches from the Glen litter that qualified last year.
However, it is such a good achievement that you should still be shouting from the roof tops.........
Well done to you all, and to the breeders for doing it.
I'm not jealous, I'm not jealous.....well, maybe a bit......hee hee......
Mo, I think Tina's litter have 3 bitches and one dog qualified, but would need to check on the 3rd bitch's details. I know they don't live in Scotland, but they were bred here.
If you want to talk about litter mates outside of Scotland then there a quite a few that have had more than 3 from one litter. The Yeldoaks one immediately comes to mind, but there are ohters.
I do know that I've not had 3 from one litter qualify, not even from both sexes. But then the majority aren't shown.
Ah but you are not Scottish Wendy ..Scottish Kennel although I did wonder if any kennel had three of the same sex out of the same litter qualified for Crufts?!1
Mo
for next year. We were joking saying we will have to wear 'team' colours and all travel on a 'team' bus - could look a bit naff though - no comments required.
I will have to get the diet sheet out because my owners are slim.
Your puppies doing well, enjoy the pictures.
Weather diabolical yet again, but going out for supper to a friends.
We are wondering if we are the only Scottish Kennel to have ever had three sisters (all out of the same litter ) Qualified for Crufts..We are sure we are so we will say..
The Only Scottish kennel to have Qualified three sisters out of the same litter?!
Mo
I believe there are 49 entries? I think, if I remember.
I have been updating my website (http://freewebs.com/barnarumble) Hope you all like.
Mo, pups looking lovely.
Well done Gill!! The class was huge wasn't it? I am looking forward to crufts as I have never shown there before.
I am entering open shows as we speak!
Yes we are actually three weeks and ONE day..just done breakfast of Porridge and Royal Canin starter..really enjoyed..the one that seemed to like the most was flower pot..when feed porridge always get the thick stuff at the bottom of dish..usually pups leave this at the beginning..not flower pot she was going round all the dishes 12 off ..and took all the thick stuff..so no problems with her?
Yes Pam they are lovely.. Will be in puppy room again today if it does not rain??!!
,Mo
Hi,
Mo, the puppies are looking scrumptious!! Can't believe they are 3 weeks old already, it's flying in. Can't wait to see them again.
Gill, well done on your 2nd last weekend. In a big class too so you must have been over the moon. Here's hoping this is the start of something!!!!
I am not at any shows this weekend, but I am hoping to be at Darlington next weekend. Got my pass in & we are 1st in the ring at 9.30am so it will be an early start!!!LOL I don't know how many entries there are, does anyone else have that info?
Pam
Hi Mo
Rather like the wee girl front left. Like the way she stands and holds her tail. Is rather light but can see colour underneath. She looks very sturdy - unless it is the fact that she is nearer to the camera. They all appear to be enjoying the porridge!! I have always found that litters are great time wasters, I have spent hours and hours in the past just observing.Suprised you ever get any sleep. Are these early risers?
I think you have got the wrong place Mo, Kenmore is not near loch Ard, but I am sure there are plenty of great walks there, will do some investigation, have plenty waking books etc at home. How are the puppies getting on? Anyone going to Richmond this weekend?
Mine loved the porridge - though in early days don't know who got covered the most them or me. Takes me back. They look sturdy wee things, compact and square with good heads.
Any coming down to Yorkshire ?
Just wanted to say a big thank you for all the congratulations we have recieved. Ellie was a star yesterday we have been doing a bit of training but not nearly as much as we should so I was well chuffed when she behaved so well (even if she did give the judge a sneaky lick lol). Heres hoping it wasn't a one off.
A big well done to everyone else who did well.
Gill
Don't you just love them! That one made me burst out laughing. The dogs think I'm crazy....!!!
Sleepless nights here too. Seska thinks she has babies (phantom pregnancy!) and is upsetting the others a bit with her antics. No, she isn't having pups, they would have been born last week if she was pregnant, but try telling her that!!!!!!!!!!
Glad to hear Colin is ok, though it must have been (and still must be) very worrying. I remember my dad having his appendix out, just before we flew to Australia to live (over 40 years ago!!!!) We weren't allowed to visit because of all our innoculations. Amazing how some things stick in your mind. I was only 6 (ok, I'm sort of telling everyone my age here!)
Linda
Link to new site for Munsterlanders in Scotland Click here to enter I think this is a super site love the colour scheme..and content. It is not finished yet but the beginnings are great
Mo
Kenmore is about an hour and a quarter north of us, so we could manage a walk up there. It's been a long time since we were last there.
Mo, I think you could be getting Aberfoyle and Aberfeldy mixed up. I have a major issue remembering which is which. Loch Ard is beside Aberfoyle. Kenmore is at the end of Loch Tay near Aberfeldy (which is near Pitlochry).
The pictures of the pups developing are great to see, I'm sure Pam had a great day looking after them.
I think Kenmore is very near the walk Elspeth did the other week to see inpart if it would be suitable for meet. Loch Ard if my memory is right? usually not?!
Carol are you visiting pups today?/ you can take "after pic" Colin much better than I at picture taking
Mo
at Birmingham Show. A reward for all the work.
Mo, You should put a picture up of "after first porridge"
Just checked where Kenmore is and if its the one just North West of Perth then we are 110miles away! I will keep your dates in mind.
Wendy Gill did great.. she wanted to qualify for Crufts so all three sisters will be there (statistics??!!) so very well done her in a class of 9 ..Ellie's Granny did not "do "at all..Pam did a great job looking after puppies..thanks Pam..Gill did great job getting us all down to Birmingham..Thanks Gill..I only had to put the brakes on Once??!!
Pups Big day today Porridge..any good tips on that..
Bet they dont look like that after porridge activity??!!
