Hi Guys,

Love the photos from Tenstmuir yesterday, looks like you had a blast. The puppies are looking really well too.

I never got much done at all yesterday, by the time I picked my boy up & got my shopping done it was getting dark. I did give Elvis a walk round Lanark Loch though so he wasn't totally deprived!!!hee hee I am going to be good today though & get him out for a nice big run over the moor.

Anyway best get a move on or I'll never be at Tentsmuir on time.

Well done to Tilly. How are they all doing, Mo? Hope all goes well for them all.

I won't be on for a while, I'm frightened to move anywhere just now. My back went completely this week adn it hurts just to change the channel on the telly..... I've just taken painkillers before going off to bed which is why I'm on here now. They are kicking in nicely.

I had some awful news (though a happy ending) My cousin was putting up her decorations last week using a chair, not steps. She stepped backwards onto a glass coffee table, which shattered. For the last week she has been in the high dependancy unit at Ninewells, but has been moved today to another ward. Her husband is also in Ninewells as he is terminally ill with a brain tumour and there is no-one at home to care for him. Not a happy Christmas for us this year.

I do hope that you all have a very happy Christmas and that Santa brings you what you ask for.

Linda

Well done to Tilly and Kai - and of course Mo and whoever for being there.  Glad to hear normal delivery for all, was it twelve puppies and mum, I hope now doing well.  How many boys and girls ?  More info when possible, weights, marking etc. Been some good photos taken recently - do like to see pics of munsters out and about.
Just arrived home from one of the most beautiful Carol Services - laughed, sung and cried - and again realised how blessed we are in this part of the world. On the most part, the only hurt and conflict we suffer is of our own doing as we do not live in a war zone day in and day out.
In case I don't get chance to post again, I wish you all a very special, happy and healthy Christmas, with love, joy and peace for the New Year.
Ken said thank you for the invite to your hospitality but was on a tight schedule this year - maybe next time I will go with him and we will then take you up on your offer Nickie.   Lots of love to Erin and Jason and hope Santa brings you lots of lovely gifts.  Wendy

No words will change or stop the hurt and pain you, your mum and dad, I am sure will be feeling after loosing such a special dog as Barney, and that proves how much you loved him and of course how much he loved you too.  I take great comfort in that all the special dogs look after one another in 'doggy heaven'.  I often speak to my Reba and ask her to look out for new friends and to show them all the best places to play and run free and where they all share the nicest food and treats so don't worry about him, he is in good hands.  Love to you all.  Wendy

so sorry to hear yuor news, its never easy to lose a dog. he was a character fro what you wrote about him and you can tell how much he meant to your family . you had many happy years with him and although it seems hard now you can be assured you gave your old friend a dignified and peaceful end. we had to have our near 16 year old put down this year and it was the worst thing in the world but afterwards we knew it was the right thing to do and it helped a bit.

patience!

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Never was one of my strong points Mo!

It does cut off rather quickly at the end - I hadn't realised.  It was a cock pheasant.  This was the first time she had done a retrieve over anyting like that, and although she saw the bird the bird in the air, she didn't know where it had landed on the other side.  You can see her head appear with the bird at one stage but she had to work out how to jump up again with it in her mouth.  We were having rather a boring morning picking up today no work to do) so I took the opportunity, while we were standing by the old walled garden, to do a bit of 'training'.  There aren't many walls around here it's all stock fencing.  I'll have a look at the one of Inca and see if that goes on better.

Video

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

It does that Karen  it means video being "streamed" patience is a virtue
Nice video  but what was she doing behind the wall ?  having a wee sleep?
having a wee chat with the bird? before picking it up?
Well done on getting it up  it can be troublesome??!!

Well done to Erin and Paws! Didn't Kelsey look good. I hope mine look that good at 13! Well doen for 2nd place.

Seska's name is Celtaur Rainbow Niamh at Kalabagh, no T in Niamh, but everything else looked fine!

Sorry I didn't stay to the end but my back had started to go into spasms by then. Driving home was a nightmare. I had to stop on the way home to give it a break (and take more painkillers/muscle relaxants) I think I'll get someone else to bath my dogs in future. I'm sure that's what caused it.

Thank you Carole for carrying the dog cage back to the car. It was appreciated.

Mo, I've uploaded some more photos of my lot (and some where I took the photo, only to find the dogs weren't in them - they'd run through before the camera clicked!) so I'll send you a few.

Details of this event are now on the Large Munsterlander Club website for anyone interested.

It's being held in Lanark on Sunday April 13th 2008. The specialist is Geoff Hargreaves. This is probably the only time that we will have a seminar in Scotland for quite some time, so anyone up here interested in going please check out the details.

Sorry you guys all spoken for in the Aberdeen area - I made them up myself, red/white wine, port, nuts, chrissy pud, chocolates, different nibbles, and a santa beer.  After seven I had had enough, all done in nice picnic hampers.
I got Ken to buy extra booze - love port, which I needed, it took me ages trying this way and that - in the end - after a couple of glasses of port - I thought who care what it looks like it's the thought that counts !!

Ruby and Enya, same size Ruby on left.  Have a lovely video taken this week on Ilkley Moor baht tat.  Spent an hour trying to up load it - so Mo will try again through this site later.  Sat waiting for the carpet man to arrive !!
Heavy frost and fog here this morning a real winters scene looking at the sheep in the fields opposite.
Have a good weekend and enjoy whatever.  Off to see Tom Jones tonight (well, a wonna be) won't throw my 'big knicks' though.   Wendy

Pam, enjoy your night out with the girls, and happy birthday. I hope you enjoy your birthday as much as I will LOL

Wendy, only 6 times? multiply it by about 3 and you can see why I get itchy feet after a few years.... This is the longest I have actually lived in any house. I have been here for 7 1/2 years. Must be time to move again....

Carol, I hope things go well this time and you get the house.

See you all (minus a couple..) on Saturday. Oh, that reminds me. Pam and Mo, what do you want me to do with your cards? I'll need your address Pam if you want me to send it to you (Don't put it up on the internet though!). I'll have the others with me on Saturday.

upside down

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Hi to you all - sorry no posts for a  few days - Pam Happy Birthday for the weekend, Carol hope you get the house you want, appreciate how stressful it can be, having moved six times, but do believe you will end up where you are meant to be.
Our house is upside down, must be mad just before Christmas.  Had a lounge carpet fitted last week and tomorrow having a new floor covering in the kitchen/dining room called Elletile - a bit like lino but not as posh or expensive as amtico.  The beize carpet in the dining room area was taking some hammer with pups and dogs so wanted something safe for them, and easy to clean for me.
Had a lovely day today met up with Lynn and her pup Enya, Rubys' half sister, and we had a good walk which the pups thoroughly enjoyed. Spot the difference - cos Lynn and I kept getting them mixed up.DSCF2355.JPG
I started last year with the hobby of card making, but going slowly at the moment, there never seems to be enough hours in the day.  Ken going to Scotland next week delivering hampers to his customers so hope to catch up on a few jobs while he is away. Wendy

Hi,

I am glad that dog has been found now, what a terrible thing to happen. Just goes to show again how easily these things can happen. I often don't lock my car if I'm nipping into the shop or the petrol station, but I will be all the time after this.

Carol, I will keep everything crossed that you get this house. Are we going to be "neighbours"??hee hee Elvis will be so pleased if his favourite girl (Skye) is going to be close by!!!!

Mo, how are things with you? Will you be going to Costco at all at the weekend, could you pick me up dog food (or if you're going on Sunday could i come with you)????

Won't be at HPR this weekend as it's my Birthday on Saturday so I'll be out & about with friends. We are doing the "Ladies Who Lunch" thing!!! Good Luck to all who are going though.

Subject: Border Collie lost

Urgent, please, please help if you can. Yesterday
evening, returning home from the Championship Show at
the NEC, Ross Green stopped at a service station, just
off the M1 at J13. Whist paying, he saw a white
youth jump into his car, a DARK BLUE VAUXHALL VECTRA
ESTATE, Reg. No. KJ55 XFZ. Ross ran out, tried to
smash driver window and then managed to open rear
passenger door but as he did so the youth started the
car and sped away towards the M1. In the back of the
car was his and Judith Gregory's Black & White Border
Collie, Tyson, (ShCh Tonkory Guinness)

Police are searching but the service station was just
a mile from the M1 and the driver could have gone in
either direction. There was approx 150 miles worth of
fuel in car. Please keep an eye out incase you see
either the car or Tyson. If so, please contact Ross
Green, tel no: (01234) 838380 and/or the police. And
pray for Tyson's safe return. This is a tragedy for
both Ross and Judith.

Forgive me if you receive this more than once - this

house

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

We've had a verbal offer of acceptance for a new house but nothing is final until missives are signed but we are happy to have got this far.

We will be at HPR on Sat - weather permitting - yesterdays forecast was pretty bad but todays forecast is a lot better.

Glad youv'e emphasized how close xmas is as nothing has been done in this house - oops! but an early santa delivered a new hoover today as previous one blew up with all the house tidying I've been doing over the last month.

There seem to be a lot of birthdays at the end of december. My mum, sister, nephew and brother in law are all late december.  They must put something in the water in the middle of March!!

Christmas...??

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

What's Christmas? I'm being abandoned this year, so spending it on my own (well, I'll have the dogs with me....)

Mind you, if it's 14 days to Christmas, then it's only 20 days to my birthday............ I'll definately be a good Scots wifie that night and enjoy it..... along with the whole of Scotland....hee hee.......

See some of you on Saturday, if my car is still going...

Where...

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

We'll keep it secret just now incase any potential new neighbours put in an objection to munsterlanders in their area.  It is a lot closer to my mum and dads compared to where welive just now though.

It always brings back painfull memories when you see someone falling on ice. The thud goes right through me. I think it must be one of the harder substances to fall on.

Glad erin enjoyed her day.

oh no

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
well i suppose it was my own fault, erin had never been ice skating before and i was sure she would spend most of her time on her backside but she was really good and only fell a couple of times and really really really wants to do it again lots!!!!!!! i have created a monster but couldnt believe how quick she got into it, i would have been in A & E if it was me. some of the adult helpers did end up with very bruised bums.

Laugh

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Nicky the last really good laugh I had  was when I went on a course last week on "Major Incidents " in the Hospital.
We had to put on these suits you see ambulance men etc wearing at Incidents on the telly.
Well one girl put it on (thankfully I was not volenterred?! to put one on)   and it was so funny ... they put googles on  and she could not see  ... then mask round her mouth and nose .... so she definetly could not see  I took a fit of the giggles  so inappropriate but???  Thankfully I did not see my boss put his suit on ??!!

What are you lot like? You should borrow Chance for a while, especially if Pepsi decides to come up for a cuddle as well...... Chances elbows, etc, tend to get in some very uncomfortable places......

Xmas trees. hmm. Mine will go on a shelf that is about 2 feet off the ground, right next to the open fire. Well out of the way of both fire and dogs. They all have a quick sniff, but it's the cat that I have to worry about. He tries to climb it... only to play with the the baubles, you understand, no other reason..... I might put mine up next weekend, after HPR, then again I might not. I'll be on my own this year, so why bother?

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Lol tell her she should try having Ellie on one knee and paws on the other now that was uncomfortable! Our tree went up on Monday and no ones knocked it over yet although I do tend to keep the dogs away from the tree as much as possible, Brook really couldn't care less about the tree and Willow thinks the decorations were put there for her to play with.

Don't you ever stop, Nicky?!? You tire me out just reading what you're up to this weekend!!!

Apologies to Tayside and Lochee, they had a class last year, and apparently I was there! Can't remember it, but can only think that I was showing Chance's brother as I was waiting for Seska to come into season and I'm sure I didn't enter. Maybe I did, but I don't have a catalogue for the show which makes me think I didn't.

friday night we got and pick our tree, i like a real one as the smell is lovely and the cats love climbing them, luckily the dogs dont pee. although last year the disgraceful old goat kelsey knocked it over stealing the chocolate santas!!!! saturday we have agility in the morning and the panto in the afternoon with jasons beavers although erin is coming too. sunday agility in morning then erin is going ice skating and j is going to hi pals for a play and his tea. all go.

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Erin looks lovely in her party outfit. Did she have a good time at the party. I always loved the christmas parties when I was at school. I loved all the dancing & the games.

I am thinking about going to the club show in Feb next year. I think it's been moved a bit closer now so feel I should make the effort incase they move it back south next year!!!LOL I understand though Linda about you not wanting to travel all that way, you have a lot further to go then me.

Has anyone got anything exciting planned for the weekend? It's my works christmas night out this saturday so I'll be in on Friday night getting tan etc sorted. I'm looking forward to it, should be a good night.

Wendy, I'm glad jazz has gone home now to his family & by the sounds of it he's a happy little chappy. I like it when a story has a happy ending.

shows

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Nicky, they are both Limited shows, not open shows, so don't feel bad about not entering, or going to either. I don't think I'll be at the club show. It's a bit far at this time of year and I don't like going great distances on my own.

disco

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Erin really enjoyed the disco and came is at 10 [late for a school night] still dancing. She has her school disco next week but it will be a rush as it is the last obedience training night for xmas and they have a party night and have all had to make up their own heelwork to music routine. erin and ace are doing rudolph the red nose reindeer. Will see if i can make any of thise open shows. the problem with tvga is they have it the same day as the club show which some of us were thinking of doing this year with the pups. Well erin has her horse riding tonight so must get the pills out for me cos she does some scary things that i cant look at - jumping 3 ft with no stirrups and reins aint for the faint hearted but she loves it.

Kids

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Don't they grow up quick? Erin looked nice for her party, did she enjoy it? I have a picture on my camera of Claire all dressed up and will try to download it at some time.

The mail has just arrived and I see that Tayside and Lochee have given Munsters a class this year (Limited show) It's only taken us, what, 5 years to get one after they promised us at least one class? TVGA have gone down to one class. Not surprising after last year when there were only 2 entries. Both shows in February. Guess who's due in season in February, and might miss both shows, or at least one? And I have no idea when Pepsi will come in. Same time perhaps????

growing up quick

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Thanks everyone, she really did look very grown up tonight when she was going to her disco.Dont mention boys to me she already has a couple of male admirers one of which covered her xmas card with x's. very worrying only good thing is erin still thinks boys are stinky so thank goodness for that. They are only 9.  Saying that we have said to erin that she can have a party in march as she is reaching double figures so it is a special one. So what has she come up with , well she would like us to get her a pink limo for the day for her and some pals to travel about in - what a diva!! I will let her see all your comment tomorrow and she will be dead chuffed with them. i am really glad that jazz is back with his owners and hope they keep up all the good work that you have put into him wendy. i am sure they will keep in touch with you so they can get advice. i was saying to mo today that you have to get on with the training from day 1 as that cute wee bundle soon grows up.

Erin and Jazz

Erin the photo of you is lovely - love the party dress - you are definitely a pretty young lady. Thanks Nickie for putting up the pic.

Jazz- Glad to say owners delighted with Jazz and he was so pleased to see them, recognising them instantly.  Second antibiotic course now completed and feeding amount significantly increased so that he was getting what he needed and it wasn't going straight through him. Some new owners don't appreciate that at this stage their puppies are growing at such a fast rate and therefore the amount must be increased on practically a daily basis, if not the puppy feels constantly hungry as they are never full - an essential requirement for content and fast growing puppies development.
With a rotti or mastiff etc., known as guarding breeds,  a little more care has to be taken when food and possessions are about (been called in several times recently to help owners of these similar breed types) but a munster, who I have only experienced as loving and human orientated, bred from a line of gentle, bomb proof munsters I could stake my life on, was so obvious that Jazz's behaviour was down to illness and not enough food. In other words, new puppy owners don't ignore what is says on the packet of food you buy but use it as a guide, because, like us humans, we all function on different amounts.  (I like lots especially puddings).   Wendy

HPR and Rain

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

HPR is in Scotland, at Auchterarder (near Perth) on Saturday 15th December. My lot are entered, well I have to go to return the shield. Though the way I'm feeling just now I could do with staying at home. I'm back for the 2nd test on my heart/blood flow tomorrow evening (they run evening clinics at Ninewells now) so hopefully they can sort me out one way or the other.....

Wendy, I have one that will not go out if the ground is wet! As for rain, forget it. I have to put her on a lead and take her into the front garden to go to the toilet, or right out onto the grass verge across the road from my house. It's a nightmare getting her to go out in this weather, even for a walk. Though once out she is fine.

I hope things work out with the owners today, and that they can see what to do with the wee man. Not everyone is willing to accept that they need to ask for help. Until it's too late.

Waiting

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Morning - can't say good because the weather is dreadful, heavy rain, windy and cold.  We managed to get our early walk in before the rain started, sat now waiting for Jazz's owners to come and spend time here before taking him home. Jazz hates the wet weather and doesn't want to go out (does anyone else have a munster that doesn't like rain and puddles ??) was planning on a walk to let them see how we get on and the language and whistle commands we use when out, but with this weather Jazz will not be his happy self though we will still go.
Yes, feel we have made very good progress - hand feeding making the most impression.  If a bone or chew in his mouth when he heads for his bed or under my table I encourage him out with a 'special treat' so he doesn't feel threatened and hopefully we do an exchange.  I decided not to challenge or be the boss because he couldn't cope and became scared and upset and hence went into fight/defence mechanism.  The method of 'taking his mind off that' and making my actions sound exciting and rewarding has worked for this little man.  He needed to forget his possessive growl which of course he learnt very early on and very quickly and he got his way - I still feel it was down to him being very hungry suffering from this tummy bug that lasted over three weeks, he was on two lots of antibiotics.  So hopefully my lovely little man will be going home today to happy owners.  Wendy

Morning,

Vicky, well done on getting 3rd at the show. For a 1st timer that is brilliant, I am so pleased for you. Hopefully we will see you at a few shows next year, if you look on www.scottishmunsters.co.uk you will be able to see all the show dates & judges for next year & then you can decide what shows you fancy going to.

Mo, thanks again for all your help this weekend, I really do owe you big time!!!!

Happy Belated Birthday to Kelsey. Still going strong at 13!!! She really is a great example of how to grow old Gracefully!!!!!

Wendy, I think what you are doing to help your puppy owners is really fantastic!!! I wonder how many breeders & I mean this for ALL breeds would have the time to give such "Hands On" support. I know I've been really lucky with Mo that she has always been on hand to give me help & advice (as have so many others!!). Well Done!!!

Carole, I love the pic of Spring & Spring!!!!

music lover

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Vicky I love every type of music. From classical to pop, from reggae to heavy metal, from jazz to.....well, I think you get the message. So long as it has a melody of some kind I'm happy. That's why I don't like Eminem, or rap music. Though I could listen to Travis all day, every day. What I really hate is a tune out of key, so rarely go to concerts..........

Looks like Pepsi and Isla will be competing against each other in the future then. She was 7 months old yesterday. Though I think her colouring will go against her with a lot of judges. She is a very, very dark roan. There are a few white spots on her, honest!! I'll try to get an updated photo tomorrow when I get back from the dreaded appointment with the cardiologist.

Wendy, I think Ewan McGregor has to come near the top for me. Especially as I'm watching him on BBC2 just now!!! He's gorgeous....

well done

Hi Vicky - nice to hear from you - and well done at the show - love to see a pic of Isla when you get chance.
McFly - Harry, very handsome - I'll come to your wedding if you will come to mine - it may be to James Martin or Simon Cowell - just don't know who to choose.  Ken said I can go with either who'll have me as long as I take the dogs!!  James, I met on holiday this year when he cooked my meal and we talked about his Clumber and Simon's auntie is a friend of mine from church who he visits in Ilkley - well I can live in hope.  A question to anyone who would like to answer - who would be you 'dream' partner ??
Nickie - thanks for pics but I can't make them any larger so could not see Kelsey very well - you know the older you get the worse your eye sight is  !!
Carol - your Skye and my Ruby look so much alike in the head and expression as pups -  the double picture is brill.  Wendy

Yes, I am dating Danny from Mcfly, I am going to marry him one day, although he really has no idea of it yet!! LOL!!!

Mo, that made me laugh! Do you think I can pull it off???? hahahahahahhaha

Linda, You like mcfly aswell? !! I love them, I think I follow them everywhere. I won that meet and greet and a few weeks before went to the dudley signing. I saw them in birmingham on friday in concert as well as wolvo earlier in this tour!!! I think I am obsessed...no only slightly....

Yes, I think I have caught the show bug. I am entred in some more local open shows, I think they are a good confidence builder for me and Isla - Will help when we start going to champ shows. It was nice to see Isla out with her own breed, too!

When I get back I'll type the results I have in my catalogue, gotta go to blockbuster DVD now though!

Today Was mine and Isla's first show. It was Coventry and Dustrict Gundog as she was 6 months old yesterday. It went really really well and considering Isla was the youngest puppy in the class, she did brilliantly. She got a 3rd out of 6 dogs and bitches. I really enjoyed myself and i'm really proud of Isla dn me that we just went out there and did what we loved!!!

Hope you are all well, I have so much to catch up on!! xxxx

Hi to all the Logie family and a special happy birthday to Kelsey.  Have you got a photo of her when she was a pup around 10/12 weeks old and what marking did she have on her, the reason being, wondering if Shula (my Lily) will look like Kelsey for colouring. Kelsey was of course our Crufts winner one year or have I got the wrong one?
Love to Erin and Jason  -  great pics of Erin with Kelsey - make a nice Christmas card for you to send out Nickie !! Wendy

Happy birthday. It's so good to see a dog that old so fit and healthy, and obviously still enjoying life to the full. Here's to the next few!

Somehow I don't think Seska will make it to that age, not if today's behaviour is anything to go by. She did it again. She took off by herself for a walk, only she took Pepsi with her. I was looking for Chance at the time (he'd done a runner too, something he never does..) and I didn't notice quick enough. I put Chance and Chloe into the house (after I found him in a neighbours garden) and went looking for the other 2. I looked towards the dual carriageway and there they were, the pair of them, coming back across the road.... I couldn't look. I still feel sick thinking about it now. It only needed a vehicle to be coming along at that moment and I could be 2 dogs less. Thankfully they both came home safely, but I just can't get the courage up to take them out again today. Long lead for Seska for a while, methinks. Pepsi was just following mum, and she is usually ok with her recall. I did actually think of changing my dogs today. You know, change to one of those types that don't eat, poo or need to go for a walk. I think they are called soft cuddly toys!!!!!!!! Off to find some alcohol....something I don't usually have in the house.....

Yes at 6 am 13 years ago the best munsterlander in the universe made her way onto the planet. And now at the grand old age of 13 kelsey is still bounding round like a pup and apart for a few grey hairs looks really well. She still eats like a horse, loves walks, is the cleanest dog in the house never any accidents with her, still greets visitors in her own yippy hit you between the legs with my head way!!!. After nearly losing her at 10 years old with torsion we didnt think we would ever get to this age but she is happy healthy and has lived every day of her life to the full. If she went tomorrow we are happy in the knowledge that she has had a great life. Today we are away into pets at home with her to chose some treats and its steak mince for tea tonight - doggy party for all of my 7 tonight except kai and paws aint getting to boogie together!!!!!
Just spotted that its Kelsey's birthday today. Well done on reaching 13 and hope you have many more. From Skye and Spring

thank you

Hi Gill - really appreciate your comments and reassurance - I know the owners are very upset and are blaming themselves but it is never that simple.  Some puppies would have just trotted along nicely and weathered the upset and lack of stimuli but a male very bright, confident (as he was) poorly munster was a different story. DSCF2314.JPGThey are coming to collect him next Wednesday and have asked to spend the day with me which says to me they want to do the best by him.  Another pic just taken after our morning walk through, wind, rain, and very chilly, both pups sat relaxed waiting for me to finish here and give them their breakfast.

Well done Richard and of course Rolf - another success down to love and patience.
